Strength training is the most effective form of exercise for health and weight management over the long term, which is not to say it’s the only thing you should do…but that it’s incredibly important TO DO!

Strength training, for example, is as effective for weight-loss as aerobic exercise but results in more fat loss and greater muscle retention.68, 69 Longer-term positive effects include improved insulin sensitivity (meaning you use and store fuel more effectively), increased metabolic rate, and the lean, athletic look that having a little extra muscle provides, make strength training the king of exercise for health, fat-loss, and muscle retention.
