Cliff’s 101 Tips for Health: Do a little cardio

Do sustained cardio for at least 1 hour per week

Cardiovascular, ‘cardio’ or Aerobic training done at a steady pace is a terrific addition to your training schedule. Even though resistance training and HIIT might give you a little more ‘bang’ for your training ‘buck’, cardio is still awesome…and it’s critical to be as healthy and well-performing as you can be.

It shouldn’t take the place of strength training or high-intensity work if you’re stretched for time, but a couple of steady-state cardio sessions (jogging, light rowing, power walking etc.) per week will be the ‘icing on the cake’ for fat loss, general movement skills, active recovery, and cardiovascular health. Slow-and-steady cardio is also a great active meditation and can help you to think clearer, be more relaxed, and be more creative.
