Reading fiction is a great substitute for watching TV at night. Not only will you be able to wow your friends with your analysis of Dostoevsky’s Brothers Karamazov (and who wouldn’t want that?) but reading is also incredibly relaxing. Fiction is especially so, as it offers distraction and fantasy, without starting the wheels of your analytical mind turning. Non-fiction, on the other hand, might affect your sleep, as we can become involved, even if we don’t mean to, on planning and analysis, based on the very ‘real’ concepts that we’re reading.
Do a google search for book recommendations by people that you follow or respect. You’ll often find a list of great books that can inspire, entertain…and help you sleep better!
