Fish is also a great protein option, and fatty fish like salmon and tuna also provide immune-supporting, anti-inflammatory omega 3 fats. Unfortunately, much of the fish that we buy nowadays is farmed and can have relatively low levels of these omega 3 fats, and higher levels of the pro-inflammatory omega 6 fats. The best option for health and performance is to choose sustainably sourced wild fish, or sustainably farmed fish that has been fed a species-appropriate diet to preserve a healthy omega fat profile.
